Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 24, 2026 · Last updated: October 18, 2026

Looplet is built around a simple idea: your projects are yours. Looplet never collects your name, email, patterns, or anything you type, and it never sells or shares personal information. Starting with version 2.2, Looplet sends a small number of anonymous usage signals so we can see which features help people. This policy explains exactly what that means.

The short version

  • No account, no ads, no tracking. Looplet doesn't track you across other apps or websites, and it contains no advertising.
  • Anonymous usage analytics only. Looplet uses TelemetryDeck to count a few in‑app events, such as "a pattern was created". These signals are not linked to you and are never used for tracking.
  • Your patterns and yarn stash stay on your device — and, only if you choose, in your own private iCloud.
  • AI features run on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your pattern text is not sent to us or to any AI service.
  • Voice Mode listens only while you turn it on, and your speech is understood on your device. Nothing you say is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
  • We have no servers that store your content, because we never receive it.

Information we collect

Looplet does not ask you to create an account and does not gather names, email addresses, location, contacts, pattern content, file names, or anything you type.

The only information Looplet sends is anonymous usage data, described in the next section. It cannot be used to identify you.

Anonymous usage analytics (TelemetryDeck)

To learn which features are useful, Looplet uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy‑focused analytics service based in the European Union. Here is what that involves:

  • What is sent: a short list of fixed event names, such as finishing onboarding, creating a pattern, counting a first row, turning on Voice Mode, using a voice command (only its type, like "row up"), opening the Pro screen, starting a trial, or making a purchase. Some events include a small label, such as which screen the Pro offer was opened from.
  • Basic technical details: like most apps, each signal includes general information such as the app version, the operating system version, the device type, and the language and region settings.
  • An anonymous install identifier: TelemetryDeck receives a randomly generated identifier that is salted and hashed before it leaves your device. It lets us count how many installs used a feature without knowing who you are. It is not your Apple ID, and it is not the advertising identifier.
  • What is never sent: your name, email, pattern names, pattern text, file names, yarn details, anything you type or say, or your location. TelemetryDeck does not store your IP address.
  • Not linked, not tracking: this data is not linked to your identity, is not combined with data from other companies, and is never used for advertising or tracking.

In App Store terms, Looplet's privacy label lists Usage Data (Product Interaction) and Identifiers (Device ID), used for Analytics, not linked to you, and not used to track you.

Where your content lives

Everything you create in Looplet — your imported patterns, row and stitch counts, goals, tags, and yarn stash — is stored locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. If you unlock Looplet Pro and enable iCloud sync, your content is synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) service. This data lives in your personal iCloud container. We cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it, and it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn iCloud sync off at any time.

AI Pattern Insights

Looplet Pro's AI features — pattern summaries, abbreviation keys, materials and difficulty breakdowns, time estimates, and the question‑and‑answer assistant — are powered by Apple Intelligence through Apple's on‑device Foundation Models framework. The text of your pattern is processed on your device. Looplet does not send your patterns or questions to any Looplet server (we don't operate one) or to any third party. Apple's handling of on‑device intelligence is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Voice Mode and the microphone

Looplet Pro's Voice Mode on iPhone and iPad lets you count hands‑free by saying commands like "next row" or "undo". Here is how it treats your voice:

  • Only when you turn it on. Looplet uses the microphone only while Voice Mode is on and the pattern is open on screen. It stops when you turn it off, leave the pattern, lock your device, or after a quiet period you choose. iOS shows its microphone indicator whenever Voice Mode is listening.
  • Understood on your device. Speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition running on your device. If you turn on "Understand everyday speech", Apple Intelligence on your device helps interpret the phrase. Your voice is not sent to us or to any third party.
  • Never recorded or kept. Looplet does not record audio and does not save what it hears. The words are used only to pick a command and are then discarded.
  • Headphones. If you choose to use AirPods or another headset microphone, the audio still stays on your device in the same way.

You can turn off microphone and speech recognition access for Looplet at any time in the Settings app. The rest of Looplet keeps working without it.

Purchases and the free trial

Looplet is free to download. "Looplet Pro" is an optional one‑time in‑app purchase. Looplet may also offer a free, optional 7‑day trial of Pro, which is a free one‑time in‑app item. The trial never charges you and never turns into a subscription.

All purchases, including the free trial, are processed by Apple through the App Store. Looplet never sees or stores your payment details. Purchase, trial, and restore information is handled by Apple's StoreKit and is subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy. When a trial is started or a purchase is made, Looplet records an anonymous analytics event as described above.

Third parties

Looplet uses one third‑party service for anonymous usage analytics: TelemetryDeck (see above). Looplet includes no advertising networks and no tracking libraries. We do not sell data, and we do not share personal information with third parties.

Children's privacy

Looplet does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The anonymous usage data described above cannot identify a person. Looplet is rated 4+.

Data retention and deletion

Because your content stays on your device (and, optionally, in your own iCloud), you are in complete control. To delete your data, remove patterns and yarn entries within the app, delete the app, or turn off and delete its iCloud data from your Apple account settings.

Anonymous analytics signals are kept by TelemetryDeck in aggregate form and cannot be tied back to you, so there is no personal record for us to look up or delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
